Overall great quality put together piece. I love the compound leverage that is designed into the pliers and the high polish finish on the entire tool. What I don’t like is the grip panel cover that covers the rest of the tools is difficult to open. I’m not sure if this is just my tool or not but a lot of the time as I try to open the cover, the entire thing pops off instead of pivoting where it is supposed to. I’m trying to bend the lips on the cover to find that sweet spot so it will still stay in place but not be so hard to pop open. Not a big deal but still a little annoying when you’re trying to get inside it.

The only other gripe I have with it is that the straight blade has too much vertical and side to side play than I’m happy with. I’m not sure if this is something that can be adjusted but the serrated blade locks rock solid both vertical and side to side so I’m sure this varies with each specific tool. It is great to be able to get a blade out one handed and not have to search through the rest of the tools to do it. The assisted opening on both blades works well and there is a lock for each blade to keep it from opening when you don’t want it to and it also acts as a closing lock if the release gets hit somehow.

Another plus for it is that you can buy and install yourself individual fold out parts for it to really customize the tool for what you’ll be using it for.

Overall I think its a great tool it just looses some points for the blade play in the straight edge blade and for me having to play with the grip cover to get it to open with out it popping off.

Straight out of the box and loved it. Alot bigger and heavier then I had expected but that does not distract from how great the SOG Power Assist is. Would have given it 5 stars but the fact that the V Cutter gets stuck on the can opener or vice versa really erks me. Other then that, everything else is so fluid and works great. A very reassuring tool to have on your belt.

Got one for Christmas.. works well, though it does require a little effort to hit the 2 buttons in sequence to get it lit. I got it down but my wife hates that part, which probably makes it child and accident-proof.

The instructions mention that this is a windproof lighter.. at least if you keep blowing it out it will relight. That doesn’t mean it will stay lit in high winds, but it will relight when the wind dies down as long as you are still holding the buttons.

The windproof-effect has something to do with 2 flame outlets.. the main orifice has a small glowing grille, next to it is a tiny hole where another flame comes out. The flame itself is not a jet but like that of a candle.

The built-in LED light works OK and the button for that is easy to operate. The black rubber handle only seems to add bulk, but it won’t slip out of your hands. The carabiner clip is probably useful.

I’d give it 5 stars if it weren’t for the double-button push required to light.

This lighter is certainly child-proof. In fact, it is so hard to ignite that you will likely need two hands and a couple of attempts. It looks cool, but must not have gone through any usability testing. I bought this lighter because I associate Zippo with quality products … this product changed that perception.

I purchased these based on the smaller size, being able to use it for travel (12 volt adapter included) and strong feedback of Peet shoe dryers. Unfortunately these went back to Amazon. I loved the smaller size as well as the travel feature, but I wear my shoes everyday and my shoes (let alone boots) did not dry overnight. This portable dryer uses Ultraviolet light only to dry the shoes. Peet states this will help to neutralize bacteria as it dries. They may do that better than dry, but I needed a shoe/boot dryer (although some may argue otherwise). These may be great if you have more than one pair of shoes or you can afford more drying time. Two stars since the product is listed as a shoe dryer but does not advertise as overnight. I highly recommend the original Peet dryer for overnight drying. A complaint I have for both models is there is no on/off switch – one has to unplug them from the outlet and sometimes that is forgotten.

I love this product. I read the other review that says that their shoes did not dry over night, and it makes me wonder if the reviewer is wading in a pond before bed, or perhaps they got a dud product. Mine easily dry my shoes overnight, and probably in just a few hours, even when I’ve been watering the lawn/washing the dog, etc… and the shoes become fairly drenched. These shoes will COMPLETELY eliminate any odor/fungal problem, and make your shoes last at least double their life without using it. Plus they feel so much more comfortable when you first put them on, like a newer pair of shoes, (but after you’ve worn them in). Also, this model easily packs up for travel, even plugged into an auto-outlet. I swear I’m not a paid reviewer, just excited about the reasonably significant effect this product has had on my daily, active life! The product design could use a little more finesse, but functionally, is ideal.
