Many people think just like me…their dog is not their dog, they are another family member.  My dog doesn’t rank as high as my kids, but she does come in a very close second.  Because I do care for my 7 year old German Shepherd, I wanted to make sure she had the most comfortable bed possible.  After a close evaluation and comparison of all the dog beds I could possibly find, I chose the DogPedic Sleep System.

This product is unique in many ways but its most significant feature is that it provides the ultimate sleeping comfort for any dog.  In years past, I assumed that a couple of blankets inside my dog’s kennel would provide the necessary bedding she needed.  Until recently, I never noticed that she never slept in her kennel unless the temperatures outside forced her to seek shelter.  Blankets don’t make good beds, not even for pets.

The DogPedic Sleep System is not like any other dog bed you have ever seen.  It is not a mattress or a foam filled pad.  This System is made up of a special memory foam better known in scientific terms as  “visco-elastic polyurethane”.  Large dog beds have the same air coil system as do the medium dog beds and small dog beds.  This feature has the ability to react to surrounding temperatures; staying warm in winter and cool in summer.  This same characteristic prevents odors from penetrating and remaining trapped inside the foam.

Most dog beds, when dirty, cannot be washed in a regular washing machine without losing their shape and their padding consistency.  The DogPedic Memory Foam System can be washed and never lose its padding consistency and comfortability.  The removable outer covers can be removed and washed separately.

As for comfortability, the thickness of the foam is not too thin and not too thick.  The amount of memory foam is determined by the size of the dog and the matching bed size.  Dogs with ailments forcing long term confinement do quite well on the DogPedic Foam Mattress.  The special design provides relief from bed pressure and the air fill pockets lend support to ailing joints and bone.

There are other foam beds available, but they don’t allow the dog’s weight to be evenly spread over the surface of the mattress.  With this even weight disbursement over the pressure surface, circulation is supported, joints are protected and best of all, pets sleep better.

In addition to the specially designed memory foam mattress, the cover is also unique.  It is water proof and stain resistant, important characteristics when dealing with pets.  The fabric pattern is specially designed as well and as such, hair and dander won’t get stuck to the cover.

Even though the DogPedic Sleep System is designed for dogs, it can be used for other pets.  These beds are available in three sizes selectable by your pet’s weight and shape.  The small pet bed would be ideal for cats, ferrets, rabbits, and other smaller pets.
